Future Students

1. Learning to play an instrument can be loads of fun. If you enjoy music, learning to play the piano is a great way to increase your enjoyment as you learn to play songs you already love to listen to.

There is plenty of research that shows how learning to play an instrument at any age changes our brains in positive ways, such as; increasing the functionality within our brains, increasing dopamine (the "happy" chemical our brains release) production, and increasing our memory skills. 3. While learning to play an instrument as a child is ideal, learning to play an instrument when you're older has great benefits as well and can help reduce or reverse some mental deterioration (especially in the areas of memory retention and hand/eye coordination). 4. Obviously, learning to play ANY instrument is beneficial, but piano offers something most other instruments don't; the ability to play in both high registers and low ones. A full-size piano has 88 keys which covers the average human auditory spectrum (i.e. all the tones the majority of people can hear and distinguish). If you're learning to read music along with playing the piano, you'll also learn to read both high (treble staff) and low (bass staff) as well.

5. You'll be among an elite group. It is estimated that only about 25% of people in the world play the piano.
